The Mansfield/Richland County Public Library invites the community to explore their creativity at the innovative Creation Station. This Creator’s Lab offers a variety of tools and materials, allowing users to bring their ideas to life. With resources like 3D printers, a button maker, a label maker, a laminator, and a photo printer, the library supports a wide range of creative projects. Here’s a closer look at some of what’s available.
3D Printing
The Learning Lab boasts two advanced 3D printers: the Imade JellyBOX 2 and the Creality 3D Printer Ender 3 S1 Plus. These printers use PLA (polylactic acid) plastic to create three-dimensional objects from digital designs submitted by customers. The library staff handles all equipment and requests, ensuring a smooth and professional process.
Cost: $0.10 per gram of material.
Button Maker
The button maker allows users to create custom buttons from graphics, photos, or drawings. The library offers three sizes of pin-back buttons: 1.25”, 1.5”, and 2.5”. Users can bring their own artwork or print designs in the lab (10¢ per page for black and white, 50¢ for color).
Cost: $0.25 per button.
Label Maker
The label maker provides a quick and easy way to create professional sticky labels in various colors and backgrounds. Users can include images and text to meet their organizing needs. Limited supplies are available.
Cost: $0.10 per 2” of label.
Laminator
The laminator preserves documents, photos, ID badges, and more, using 5 mil thickness. It can handle various sizes, including posters, letters, photos, and business cards.
Cost: $1.00 per lamination.
Photo Printer
The photo printer allows users to print 4” x 6” photos directly from their camera or phone. This service is perfect for capturing and preserving memories. Limited supplies are available.
Cost: $0.25 per photo.
