As spring unfolds and Easter draws near, two of downtown Mansfield’s historic churches—First English Lutheran Church and Grace Episcopal Church—are extending heartfelt invitations to all for a series of meaningful Holy Week services. These gatherings, spanning April 13–19, offer a sacred opportunity to walk through the final days of Christ’s passion, death, and resurrection with reverence, symbolism, and joy.

Palm Sunday Services – April 13

First English Lutheran Church

The congregation will mark Palm Sunday with a festive celebration of Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, setting the tone for Holy Week.

Grace Episcopal Church

10:15 AM – Holy Eucharist with Palm Procession
Grace invites worshippers to gather for Palm Sunday Holy Eucharist, beginning with a traditional palm procession and joyful celebration of Christ’s arrival.


🍞 The Great Triduum Begins

Maundy Thursday – April 17

First English Lutheran Church

The Maundy Thursday service marks the beginning of the Great Triduum—three days of deep reflection. The service concludes with the stripping of the altar, a powerful symbol of Christ’s coming passion.

Grace Episcopal Church
🕕 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM
Grace Church hosts a unique evening of sacred remembrance with liturgy, fellowship, and a shared meal, drawing worshippers into the solemn mystery of Jesus’ last supper.

One of Christianity’s oldest services begins outside with fire in the South Mulberry Street parking lot. From candlelit beginnings, the celebration builds to the first proclamation of Easter, complete with Holy Communion.
