Quick upcoming holiday-related question — What was the day of the week on which our country was born?
If you guessed “Thursday,” good for you. This year, however, the Fourth of July conveniently falls on a Saturday, giving some local communities the chance to do a weekend fireworks show.
Or, in the case of the City of Ontario, what is billed as the “…largest and longest fireworks show ever detonated in Richland County.”
Ontario’s Boom Festival arrives on Saturday at Marshall Park. The event begins at 5:30 PM with a Journey Tribute Band called “Departure,” and continues with the “Taste of Ontario” with free samples from local restaurants, as well as a Teen Dance Party. The band “County Line” performs at 8 PM.
Fireworks take place at 10PM with music available on WVNO, 106.1 FM.
Social distancing of at least six feet will be required at all times.
