The 15 members of the local team which attended South by Southwest Interactive {“SXSW”) in Austin, Texas returned to Richland County on Wednesday evening.

Over six days, the locals experienced much of what SXSW has to offer. Individual sessions chosen by members saw presentations by noted leaders in technology and innovation; celebrity and politicians; and urban experts. The goal was to capture ideas and energy that could be brought back to Richland County and used for revitalization.

It was clear from the op-ed posts which were penned and published, as well as from dozens of posts on social media (each using the hashtag #SXSW419), that participants found the experience worthwhile and enjoyable. Throughout the week, 1812Blockhouse shared those writings and posts through a regularly updated feed on a special “Mansfield in Austin” page. From the number of readers that page received, it is clear that many in the area were following along from 1,100 miles away.

All of these can still be viewed. So that anyone who has not yet read the posts can do so, we will keep the Mansfield in Austin page open and accessible into next week. It can be viewed here or through  the link in the top menu above.
