On October 4 at approximately 1:00 PM, the Mansfield Division of Police responded to an injury accident in the area of Davidson Street and Beryl Ave. The vehicles involved were a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am and a 2003 Ford Focus. The occupants from both vehicles were transported to Ohio Health Mansfield for further treatment by the Mansfield Fire Department.

During the initial investigation, it was found that the 2003 Pontiac Grand Am was a suspect vehicle from a recent Burglary in the Hastings-Newville Road area and the Richland County Sheriff’s Office had been attempting to locate it prior to the accident.

The Mansfield Division of Police is handling the accident investigation. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is also assisting with the investigation. The appropriate charges will be forwarded to the Richland County Prosecutor’s Office after the investigation is completed. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to contact Lt. Robert Skropits at 419-755-9755 with any information.
