Mansfield is getting ready to celebrate the 69th Annual Fall Harvest Show, hosted by the Mansfield Men’s Garden Club. This year’s event will showcase the region’s top gardening and floral design talent on Saturday, August 24, and Sunday, August 25, at the beautiful Kingwood Center Gardens, specifically in the Charles King Ballroom.
Event Details
The Fall Harvest Show is a cherished tradition in Mansfield, drawing gardeners of all ages and skill levels from across the area. The event will be open to the public, free of charge with admission to Kingwood Center Gardens, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Saturday and from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Sunday.
Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just starting out, the show offers a unique opportunity to display your best vegetables, flowers, fruits, herbs, houseplants, and artistic design arrangements. With numerous horticultural categories, there are plenty of chances to win prizes and ribbons.
A Platform for Junior Gardeners
The Fall Harvest Show isn’t just for adults; junior gardeners through grade 12 are encouraged to participate as well. These young green thumbs can enter their best vegetables, flowers, and floral arrangements, offering a chance to nurture their love for gardening and creativity. It’s a wonderful opportunity for children to gain recognition for their hard work and innovation.
Artistic Design Division: “Along Kingwood Paths/70 Years”
This year’s artistic division theme, “Along Kingwood Paths/70 Years,” invites participants to craft floral designs that capture the essence of Kingwood Center Gardens’ history and beauty. This special theme marks 70 years of the gardens’ contribution to the community, and the entries are expected to be both nostalgic and forward-looking, reflecting the lush paths and storied history of Kingwood.
How to Participate
Gardeners looking to participate in the show can submit their entries on Saturday, August 24, from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Entries should be brought to the west end of the Gateway Center, where Garden Club members will be available to help transport items to the King Ballroom. Show schedules, entry cards, and additional information will be provided at the check-in desk at the west end of the King Ballroom.
For those interested in learning more about the categories, rules, and specific guidelines, the Mansfield Men’s Garden Club has made the show details available on their website. Additionally, show booklets can be picked up at the Kingwood Center Gardens guest services desk or local garden centers.
