If you’re looking for some winter fun in the form of skiing or snowboarding, you’re in luck. And snow tubing will be available a bit later in the month.

SnowTrails, our local winter sport resort, is monitoring both the weather and the slopes, and providing continual updates around opening day and conditions at the ski resort. The latest information is that they will reopen for Kick-Off Weekend on Friday, December 13, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM; however, this is only for those hitting the slopes to ski or snowboard.

They will need additional days of snowmaking to open Vertical Descent Tubing Park, in order to offer snow tubing and the local favorite, Glow Tubing. (Want to see Glow Tubing? Check out this video. The tentative Opening Day for tubing is Saturday, December 21, beginning at 9:00 AM. If that date holds firm, tubing tickets will be available for purchase online beginning on December 18.

Once open, snow tubing will be offered Thursday through Sunday each week and Glow Tubing will be available beginning at 6:00 PM each day the Park is open.

Snow Trails offers group lessons, private and semi-private lessons for snow sports, as well as a children’s learning center. For more information visit snowtrails.com.
