A few days before Valentine’s Day, celebrate the amazing world of owls at the Ohio Bird Sanctuary on February 8.
A fun evening has been planned for the two hour event that kicks off at 5:30 PM. Attendees will be able to meet ‘owl ambassadors’, meaning the feathered residents of the sanctuary. There will also be an opportunity to create owl-themed crafts and do other activities. During the event there will be two opportunities for taking a night hike, to explore the trails and call in owls. Naturalist led hikes begin at 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM; each hour there will be a hike for the adventuresome and a hike that is family-friendly and accessible.
Admission is charged either by vehicle ($10 for non-members and $5 for members) or individual ($5 for non-members and $3 for members). For example: If you are a member the cost would be: $5 for one car and its occupants or $3 for one individual (and their vehicle). Tickets can be purchased online here.
The Ohio Bird Sanctuary is a private non-profit organization whose mission involves rehabilitation of native species of birds. Their goal is always to release admitted injured and orphaned birds back into the wild; however, this is not always possible. The Sanctuary is home to approximately 60 permanent residents, including raptors, vultures, and songbirds. Learn more here.
