Special to 1812Blockhouse

The Fab Four & More Fest returns to downtown Mansfield this fall on Saturday, September 21. This day long downtown event will feature four of downtown’s most popular experiences all held on the same day with much more.

The Fab Four & More Fest will feature ManAfest in Central Park, Touch a Truck in the Carrousel District, Oktoberfest in the Brickyard, and the fall Secret City Tour all over downtown.

ManAFest

The Mansfield Arts and Culture Festival, ManAFest, is growing and changing every year. This year, they are excited to feature incredible music, including the McClan’s with their delightful Celtic sounds. Additionally, the award-winning Mac and Cheese food truck, Maybe She’s Born With It, will be among the many food options available.

This year, the festival will be divided into three distinct zones, each offering something for everyone. The Fine Arts Zone will take center stage, showcasing various mediums for both judging and purchase. Local wineries will be on hand to provide the finest wines for your tasting pleasure. The Craft area will showcase a variety of crafts, such as crochet, homemade soaps, lotions, detergents, and so much more. Local farmers will also be present with fresh produce and homemade goods. The Oddities and Curiosities section will cater to a more eclectic audience offering Shakespeare performances,
authors, a fashion show, and more.

In addition, on Friday evening before the festival, Third Cup Tea will host the annual Poet-Tea event, featuring select poets and an open mic session for local poets. Best of all, this event is free.

Oktoberfest at The Phoenix Brewing Company

Come celebrate the harvest and the arrival of Autumn with good food, good beer, and a great community at The Phoenix Brewing Company’s Oktoberfest on Saturday. This event commemorates Oktoberfest, one of the longest- running celebrations around the world, which originated in Munich, Bavaria, Germany in 1810.

The day will be filled with exciting activities such as the Stein-hoist finals, performances by the Liederkranz German Dancers, and live music. Enjoy a variety of delicious German beers brewed on-site, including the Phoenix Oktoberfest Marzen with its malty, crisp, copper-colored goodness, the award-winning Treffenwolf German IPA, and sunshine in a glass, the Adalinda Hefeweizen. Don’t forget to dress up in your lederhosen, drindls, or kilts if you have them – we’ll be raising a glass to St. Patrick and halfway to St. Patrick’s Day at Noon as well!

Touch a Truck

Touch a Truck is the Richland Carrousel Park’s annual event! Touch a Truck is an amazing experience for kids (and kids at heart!) to get up close and personal with their favorite transportation vehicles. Take a seat in the driver’s seat, honk those horns, and sound the sirens – the fun never stops! To top it all off, carrousel rides are FREE all day long.

Fall Secret City Tour

The fall Secret City Tour is the second and final tour of the year for this DMI signature self-guided tour. This tour offers a unique opportunity to explore the rich history and architectural heritage of downtown buildings, uncovering hidden gems and fascinating stories along the way. Photography is welcome so grab your cameras, put on your walking shoes, and explore the heart of the city!

In addition to these great four events, the downtown is rich with shopping, dining, and exploring options to make a full day of it in downtown Mansfield.

Events are part of DMI’s ongoing mission to support and grow entrepreneurship in downtown Mansfield. For thirty years, DMI’s mission has been to stimulate economic development, improve the appearance and create a positive image of the downtown as a desirable place to work, live, visit, shop and invest.
