In its two most recent meetings, Mansfield City Council has considered legislation that would repeal a 2009 ordinance and thereby allow pay increases for Mansfield’s mayor, law director, finance director, president of city council and city council members.

The increases would take effect in January, with additional, smaller increases in 2021, 2022 and 2023.

The Mansfield News Journal reported on the intense debate that surrounded this issue during the Council’s December 3 meeting. (That story is available here). Without consensus, the issue was added to the next City Council meeting, scheduled for December 17 at 7:00 PM in the Council Chambers of the City Building. The public is welcome to attend this meeting.

Other items that will be discussed include the 2020 city budget, honoring the Mansfield Senior High Varsity Football team for its historic season, and several other matters.

The entire agenda is available here.
