Cybercrime has rapidly evolved into a global issue, affecting not only businesses but also individuals and public institutions. As cybercriminals continue to develop sophisticated methods for stealing sensitive information, businesses and citizens alike need to stay informed and prepared.

This will be the focus of an upcoming presentation at OSUM by Daniel J. Riedl.

Riedl’s session will provide practical insights for a wide range of attendees, including:

  • Business owners looking to protect their digital assets
  • School administrators aiming to safeguard student information
  • Local government officials and employees interested in community safety
  • Everyday citizens wanting to secure personal data

Riedl, a Mansfield native, has a wealth of experience dealing with cases involving ransomware, malware, terrorism, and intellectual property theft. His work includes tackling complex cases such as the Trickbot malware case, which resulted in significant legal victories and international sanctions.

About the Speaker Series

The Thinking Globally, Working Locally series aims to enhance the region’s awareness of cybersecurity challenges. The series also aims to foster collaboration with defense entities like the 179th Cyberspace Wing, which will have representatives present at each event to discuss their new missions and strategies.

The event featuring Riedl is the second in this fall’s lineup. The series offers valuable learning experiences for business leaders, local officials, and residents who want to understand the implications of cybersecurity threats on the global and local scale.

Ohio Cybersecurity for Small Business Pilot Program

The Richland Area Chamber & Economic Development, along with The Ohio State University, is also promoting the Ohio Cybersecurity for Small Business Pilot Program.
