It’s not every county in Ohio that has its own Osprey Cam. Richland County is soon to have one!
Each day brings us a bit closer to spring and further from the chill of winter. With this in mind, the staff at Pleasant Hill Lake Park have installed a new HD webcam on their Osprey Nesting platform near the beach area. In the near future, they will be live-streaming the feed 24/7 on their website, so that everyone can see what the ospreys are up to.
The project was made possible with funding from the Greater Mohican Audubon Society, Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District (MWCD), and Firelands Electric Peoples Fund. The Firelands Electric Cooperative provided assistance with the project, and Lineman Fred Hartman and Robert Shepherd battled the cold and wind to work on the installation.
This is the not the only big thing going on at the Park. As we reported last September, 10 older vacation cabins at Pleasant Hill Lake Park were auctioned off and now the Park has added 10 new modern log cabins which offer rustic, yet up-to-date, accommodations with features such as hot tubs, full kitchens, and gas fireplaces.
To show off these new cabins, several Open House dates have been scheduled:
Friday, April 24, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Saturday, April 25, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Sunday, April 26, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
