For over 16 years, Downtown Mansfield has been transformed each spring into a vibrant tapestry of flowers, thanks to the dedication of local donors, volunteers, and the City of Mansfield. The PlantLove initiative, led by Downtown Mansfield, Inc. (DMI), has brought bursts of color to the streets, creating a welcoming and lively atmosphere for residents, visitors, and businesses alike.
Each year, more than 1,000 flowers are carefully planted in over 150 containers throughout downtown, adding natural charm to the cityscape. This initiative has not only brightened the community but has also gained national recognition for its impact. Locals often share their appreciation for the floral displays, noting how they enhance the summer experience in Mansfield.
A New Approach to Beautification
To ensure the continued success of this cherished initiative, DMI is launching a refreshed approach to funding. Rather than relying on project-by-project donations, the PlantLove campaign will secure annual funds to sustain beautification efforts throughout the year. This streamlined approach will cover a range of projects from April through December, ensuring that downtown Mansfield remains lush and inviting across multiple seasons.
Funds raised will support a variety of beautification efforts, including:

✅ Regular maintenance and cleanups
✅ High-quality soil and growing agents
✅ Evergreen displays for the colder months

The 2025 Plant Love campaign has set an ambitious goal of $12,000 to cover essential materials such as summer flowers, mulch, and greenery. Donations are encouraged in any amount, with typical contributions ranging from $50 to $500.
