FROM 1812: As Mansfield’s Veterans Day Parade was canceled for the second year in a row due to low temperatures, we thought we’d re-post our coverage from the 2017 Parade along Park Avenue West, including photos and video.

The number of onlookers may have been substantially less than the previous year, fueled by the 28 degree temperature, but the patriotic enthusiasm was the same as the 2017 Veterans Day Parade took place Saturday morning in downtown Mansfield.

As the Parade made its way from Park Avenue West toward Central Park, volunteers handed out small American flags to those watching from sidewalks. Military units, the Mansfield Senior and St. Peter’s High School Marching Bands, and organizational floats joined in.

Here are a video and a handful of photos from the event, including one of Mansfield Mayor Timothy Theaker giving a wave to 1812Blockouse readers. Hover over the video and click on the sound logo for audio. Click on any photo for a full sized image.
