Here’s an opportunity to connect a desire to help the community with a love of nature and the outdoors.

The Richland County Park District has issued a call for volunteers.

As the District recently shared, it is impossible to manage and present all of the lands, trails, and activities that are featured each year without the assistance of volunteers from the community. Park District volunteers can have flexible hours, and there are a variety of positions to choose from, including the following and many more:

  • Docents
  • Program presenters
  • Indoor and outdoor maintenance
  • Trail work
  • Invasive species removal
  • Nature Center greeters
  • Special events

The Richland County Park District has a goal of preserving natural areas for people to experience, and providing opportunities for people of all ages to learn about the rich diversity of life and habitats in Richland County. It manages the 150 acre Gorman Nature Center and the 18 miles of the Richland B&O Trail.

To volunteer, call 419-884-3764 or send an email to: gormannaturecenter@gmail .com for more information.
