OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital has earned national recognition for its efforts to increase organ, eye and tissue donor registrations through the 2024 DoNation Campaign.
The Campaign challenges organizations to educate their staff, visitors and communities about the critical need for organ, eye and tissue donation, including offering opportunities to register as organ donors. Mansfield Hospital earned Platinum level recognition for conducting awareness and registry activities between Oct. 1, 2023, and September 30, 2024.
“At OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital, we have the sacred responsibility to support families dealing with tragedy,” said Mansfield and Shelby Hospitals President Curt Gingrich, MD. “The ability to partner with Lifeline of Ohio to offer organ and tissue donation to these families can bring hope and comfort during a time of loss. Thank you to Lifeline of Ohio for their leadership and support in helping us support the communities we serve.”
The Campaign is a national initiative that unites the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration and the organ donation community with workplaces across the nation in spreading the word about the importance of donation. Mansfield Hospital worked with Lifeline of Ohio to leverage its outreach efforts.
Every nine minutes, another person is added to the national organ transplant waiting list, reaffirming the critical and growing need for more registered organ, eye and tissue donors. You can sign up to be a donation hero today.
