ODOT District Three has released its weekly report highlighting road construction projects which are beginning or underway in the multi-county area it serves. What follows are posted projects taking place within Ashland, Crawford, and Richland Counties.

Please stay safe and pay attention to these closures and work taking place during the week beginning on June 7.

ASHLAND COUNTY

State Route 3 resurfacing project – State Route 3, from the village of Loudonville to the city of Wooster, will be reduced to one lane of traffic for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: September

State Route 39 culvert replacement – State Route 39, between state Route 511 and County Road 1075, will close Monday, June 8 for a culvert replacement. The detour route for eastbound motorists will be state Route 39 to Route 603, south on Route 603 to Route 95, east on Route 95 to Route 39 and reverse for westbound motorists. Estimated completion: Friday, June 12

Interstate 71 culvert repairs – I-71, just south of the US 250 interchange, will have daytime shoulder closures only as needed to complete culvert repairs. Estimated completion: October

CRAWFORD COUNTY

State Route 4 bridge repairs – State Route 4, between state Route 103 west and Washington Street/Clady Road, will close Monday, June 8 for a bridge repair project. The detour route for northbound motorists will be state Route 4 to Route 103, west on Route 103 to Route 19, north on Route 19 to U.S. 224, east on U.S. 224 to Route 4 and reverse for southbound motorists. Estimated completion: August

State Route 4 signal work – State Route 4, at the intersection of state Route 4 and Irving Street, will be reduced to one lane for signal work. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: June

State Route 19 resurfacing project – State Route 19, from Evans Avenue to the city of Bucyrus corporation limits, will be reduced to one lane of traffic for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: July

State Route 19 resurfacing project – State Route 19, from Carey Road (CR 27) to state Route 4, will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: September

U.S. Route 30 bridge sealing and structure work – U.S. 30 eastbound and westbound, from just east of State Route 98 to Old Lincoln Way, will have single lane closures for concrete sealing and striping. Estimated completion: August

State Route 97 resurfacing project – State Route 97, between Millsboro Road to the Morrow County line, will be reduced to one lane for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: July

State Route 98 resurfacing project – State Route 98, from N. Sandusky Avenue to Irving Street, will be reduced to one lane of traffic to complete corrective asphalt work. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: June

State Route 602 culvert replacement – NEW IMPACTS – State Route 602, just north of the intersection of Route 602 and Route 98, will close Monday, June 15 for a culvert replacement. Project work will not impede traffic on state Route 98. The detour route for northbound motorists will be state Route 602 to Route 98, northeast on Route 98 to Route 39, north on Route 39 to Route 103, west on Route 103 to Route 602 and reverse for southbound motorists. Estimated completion: Friday, June 19

RICHLAND COUNTY

State Route 13 bridge repairs – State Route 13, at the bridge between Ogle Street and state Route 97, will have daytime single lane closures as needed for bridge painting. The overhead clearance will be reduced to 14’ 6”. Traffic will be maintained by traffic control signals. Estimated completion: August

U.S Route 30 major rehabilitation – U.S. 30, from state Route 309 to just east of the 5th Avenue ramps, will have single lane closures for a major rehabilitation project. Traffic will always be maintained.

NEW IMPACTS

Begin construction on state Route 39 – Crews will begin working on the east side of Route 39 while maintaining traffic on the west side
Longview Avenue is tentatively scheduled to close Monday, June 8

CONTINUING IMPACTS

U.S. 30 westbound ramp to Route 39 northbound is closed permanently per project plans – detour route is posted

Earthwork continues at the state Route 39 northbound ramp to U.S. 30 eastbound and along Longview Avenue – traffic will be maintained in both of these areas as the contractor prepares for future temporary closures of the ramp and Longview Avenue

Estimated completion: May 2023

U.S. Route 42 resurfacing project – U.S. 42, from Fox Road to the city of Mansfield corporation limit, will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by periodic flagging operations as needed. Estimated completion: July

U.S. Route 42 resurfacing project – U.S. 42, from the city of Mansfield corporation limits to the Ashland county line, will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: June

Interstate 71 resurfacing project – I-71 northbound and southbound, from the Morrow county line to state Route 97, will have single lane, daytime closures and double lane, nighttime closures for a resurfacing project. Crews continue night work on I-71 from the Morrow/Richland county line to the state Route 13 exit. Work will progress in both zones simultaneously. Estimated completion: October

State Route 96 culvert replacement – State Route 96, just west of Laser Road, will close Monday, June 8 for a culvert replacement. The detour route for eastbound motorists will be state Route 96 to Route 61, north on Route 61 to Route 603, southeast on Route 603 to Route 13, south on Route 13 to Route 96 and reverse for westbound motorists. Estimated completion: Friday, June 19
