ODOT District Three has released its weekly report highlighting road construction projects which are beginning or underway in the multi-county area it serves. What follows are posted projects taking place within Ashland, Crawford, and Richland Counties.

Please stay safe and pay attention to these closures and work taking place during the week beginning on July 12.

ASHLAND COUNTY

State Route 3 resurfacing project – State Route 3, from the village of Loudonville to the city of Wooster, will be reduced to one lane of traffic for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: September 2020

U.S. Route 42 bridge replacement – U.S. 42, between Cleveland Avenue and Township Road 793, will have single lane closures for a bridge replacement project. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times. Estimated completion: October 2020

State Route 179 culvert replacement – NEW IMPACTS State Route 179, just south of state Route 95, will close Monday, July 20 for a culvert replacement. The detour route for southbound motorists will be state Route 179 to Route 95, west on Route 95 to Route 60, south on Route 60 to Route 3, northeast on Route 3 to Route 179, and reverse for northbound motorists. Estimated completion: Wednesday, August 19, 2020

CRAWFORD COUNTY

State Route 4 bridge repairs – State Route 4, between state Route 103 west and Washington Street/Clady Road, is closed for a bridge repair project. The detour route for northbound motorists will be state Route 4 to Route 103, west on Route 103 to Route 19, north on Route 19 to U.S. 224, east on U.S. 224 to Route 4 and reverse for southbound motorists. Estimated completion: Friday, August 7

State Route 19 resurfacing project – State Route 19, from Evans Avenue to the city of Bucyrus corporation limits, will be reduced to one lane of traffic for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: This month

State Route 19 resurfacing project – State Route 19, from Carey Road (CR 27) to state Route 4, will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: September

U.S. Route 30 bridge sealing and structure work – U.S. 30 eastbound and westbound, from just east of State Route 98 to Old Lincoln Way, will have single lane closures for concrete sealing and striping. Estimated completion: August

State Route 97 resurfacing project – State Route 97, between Millsboro Road to the Morrow County line, will be reduced to one lane for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: This month

RICHLAND COUNTY

State Route 13 bridge repairs – State Route 13, at the bridge between Ogle Street and state Route 97, will have daytime single lane closures as needed for bridge painting. The overhead clearance will be reduced to 14’ 6”. Traffic will be maintained by traffic control signals. Estimated completion: August

U.S Route 30 major rehabilitation – U.S. 30, from state Route 309 to just east of the 5th Avenue ramps, will have single lane closures for a major rehabilitation project. Traffic will always be maintained.

NEW IMPACTS

  • Traffic on state Route 39 has been switched to the east side while work continues on the west side.
  • U.S. 30 eastbound and westbound, from Trimble Road to Route 13, will have nightly, single lane closures from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. to complete temporary pavement on the shoulders.

CONTINUING IMPACTS

  • Longview Avenue, between Route 39 (Springmill Street) and Bowmand Street, is closed for relocation work
    • Detour route: Longview Avenue to Route 39, south on Route 39 to Harker Street, east on Harker Street to Bowman street, north Bowman Street to Longview Avenue, and reverse.
  • U.S. 30 eastbound, enter and exit ramps, to Route 545 closure – begin constructing Route 545 on the west side while maintaining traffic on the east side. Detour route is posted.
  • Earthwork continues at Route 39 northbound ramp to U.S. 30 eastbound and Longview Avenue relocation just east or Route 39. Traffic will be maintained.
  • Continue to construct Wise Avenue

Estimated completion: May 2023

U.S. Route 30 minor rehabilitation – NEW IMPACTSU.S. 30 eastbound and westbound, from the W. 4th Street interchange to just west of the Lexington-Springmill interchange, will have daily/nightly lane closures in order to complete pavement repairs, milling, paving, striping, berming, and guardrail work. Work is tentatively scheduled to begin Monday, July 20. One 11’ lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction at all times. Estimated completion: August

U.S. Route 42 resurfacing project – U.S. 42, from Fox Road to the city of Mansfield corporation limit, will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by periodic flagging operations as needed. Estimated completion: This month

Interstate 71 resurfacing project – I-71 northbound and southbound, from the Morrow county line to state Route 97, will have single lane, daytime closures and double lane, nighttime closures for a resurfacing project. Crews continue night work on I-71 from the Morrow/Richland county line to the state Route 13 exit. Work will progress in both zones simultaneously. Estimated completion: October

State Route 309 minor rehabilitation – State Route 309, from state Route 314 to Home Road, will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be shifted over into 10’ lanes and will be divided by portable barrier wall in each direction.

CONTINUING IMPACTS

  • State Route 309, between Rock Road and Allen Drive, will have single lane closures for box culvert joint repairs. Traffic will be shifted between portable barrier walls and guardrail. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained.
