ODOT District Three has released its weekly report highlighting road construction projects which are beginning or underway in the multi-county area it serves. What follows are posted projects taking place within Ashland, Crawford, and Richland Counties.

Please stay safe and pay attention to these closures and work taking place during the week beginning on August 2.

ASHLAND COUNTY

State Route 3 resurfacing project – State Route 3, from the village of Loudonville to the city of Wooster, will be reduced to one lane of traffic for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: September

State Route 3 resurfacing project – State Route 3, from the Knox County line to state Route 39, will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Crews will start replacing curb ramps in the village of Loudonville. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: October

U.S. Route 42 bridge replacement – U.S. 42, between Cleveland Avenue and Township Road 793, will have single lane closures for a bridge replacement project.

NEW IMPACTS

  • On Thursday, July 30 the road will be closed between U.S. 250 and Township Road 793 so the box beams for the bridge can be set.
  • This is a single day closure. The road is scheduled to reopen the same day and traffic will resume to its normal single lane configuration for the duration of the project.
  • The detour route for northbound motorists is U.S. 42 to U.S. 250, east on U.S. 250 to I-71, north on I-71 to Route 301, north on Route 301 to U.S. 41 and reverse for southbound motorists.

State Route 60 resurfacing project – State Route 60, from U.S. 30 to County Road 775, will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers during working hours. Estimated completion: October

State Route 60 resurfacing project – NEW IMPACTS State Route 60, from the village of Loudonville to Route 95, will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: October

State Route 89 resurfacing project– NEW IMPACTS State Route 89, from the village of Polk to Route 58, will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: October

State Route 179 culvert replacement – State Route 179, just south of state Route 95, is closed for a culvert replacement. The detour route for southbound motorists will be state Route 179 to Route 95, west on Route 95 to Route 60, south on Route 60 to Route 3, northeast on Route 3 to Route 179, and reverse for northbound motorists. Estimated completion: Wednesday, August 19

State Route 179 resurfacing project – State Route 179, from the village of Hayesville to the Holmes County line, will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers during working hours. Estimated completion: October

U.S. Route 250 resurfacing project – U.S. 250, from the village of Bailey Lakes to Westlake Drive, will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers during working hours. Estimated completion: October

U.S. Route 250 resurfacing project – NEW IMPACTS U.S. 250, between Westlake Drive and U.S. 42, will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. The project will also extend along the state Route 58 ramp to Eastlake Drive. Crews have begun milling and will complete pavement repairs, paving, guardrail repairs, and some bridge repairs. Estimated completion: November

CRAWFORD COUNTY

State Route 4 bridge repairs – State Route 4, between state Route 103 west and Washington Street/Clady Road, is closed for a bridge repair project. The detour route for northbound motorists will be state Route 4 to Route 103, west on Route 103 to Route 19, north on Route 19 to U.S. 224, east on U.S. 224 to Route 4 and reverse for southbound motorists. Estimated completion: Friday, August 7

State Route 19 bridge repairs – NEW IMPACT State Route 19, between Route 103 and New Washington Road in Lykens Township, will close on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 for a bridge repair project. The detour for northbound motorist will be state Route 19 to Route 103, west on Route 103 to Route 100, north on Route 100 to Route 67, north on Route 67 to U.S. 224, east on U.S. 224 to Route 19, and reverse for southbound traffic. Estimated completion: September 26

U.S. Route 30 bridge sealing and structure work – U.S. 30 eastbound and westbound, from just east of State Route 98 to Old Lincoln Way, will have single lane closures for concrete sealing and striping. Estimated completion: Later this month

RICHLAND COUNTY

State Route 13 bridge repairs – State Route 13, at the bridge between Ogle Street and state Route 97, will have daytime single lane closures as needed for bridge repairs. 

NEW IMPACTS

  • The bridge painting is complete and the reduced clearance of 14’ 6” has been removed.
  • Single lane closures will be utilized as needed for continued project work. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.

 Estimated completion: August

U.S Route 30 major rehabilitation – U.S. 30, from state Route 309 to just east of the 5th Avenue ramps, will have single lane closures for a major rehabilitation project. Traffic will always be maintained.

NEW IMPACTS

  • Crews will be working on the east side of Route 545 while maintaining traffic on the west side. Traffic will be maintained using signalized closures on Route 545, under U.S. 30.
  • Eastbound and Westbound traffic on U.S. 30 will be shifted onto the shoulders beginning just west of the Route 309 ramps. Two 12’ lanes will be maintained on U.S. 30 in this area. This shift is to construct the median crossover.

CONTINUING IMPACTS

  • Crews continue work on the east side of Route 39 while maintaining traffic on the west side.
  • Constructing Route 545 – crews are working on the west side of Route 545 while maintaining traffic on the east side.
  • U.S. 30 eastbound and westbound, from Trimble Road to Route 13, will have nightly, single lane closures from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. to complete temporary pavement on the shoulders.
  • U.S. 30 eastbound daytime lane closure between Route 545 and 5th Avenue to work on rock cut area.
  • U.S. 30 structure work – U.S. 30 eastbound traffic lanes have been shifted over Bowman Street so that crews can complete structure work. Two 11’ lanes will be maintained on U.S. 30 eastbound. Crews continue work on the Bowman Street structure work under U.S. 30. Traffic on Bowman Street will be maintained by flaggers.
  • Earthwork continues at Route 39 northbound ramp to U.S. 30 eastbound and Longview Avenue relocation just east or Route 39. Traffic will be maintained.

Estimated completion: May 2023

U.S. Route 30 minor rehabilitation – U.S. 30 eastbound and westbound, from the W. 4th Street interchange to just west of the Lexington-Springmill interchange, will have daily/nightly lane closures in order to complete pavement repairs, milling, paving, striping, berming, and guardrail work. One 11’ lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction at all times. Estimated completion: Later this month

U.S. Route 42 resurfacing project – U.S. 42, from Fox Road to the city of Mansfield corporation limit, will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by periodic flagging operations as needed. Estimated completion: Later this month

State Route 61 culvert replacement – NEW IMPACTS State Route 61, between Preston Road and Dinninger Road, will close Monday, August 10 for a culvert replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is state Route 61 to Route 96/39, west on Route 96/39 to Route 598, north on Route 598 to Route 61, and reverse for southbound motorists. Estimated completion: Friday, August 21

Interstate 71 resurfacing project – I-71 northbound and southbound, from the Morrow county line to state Route 97, will have single lane, daytime closures and double lane, nighttime closures for a resurfacing project.

NEW IMPACTS

  • The state Route 13 northbound exit and entrance ramps at I-71 will close Monday, August 3 for pavement repairs. Estimated Completion: Wednesday, August 12, 2020
  • Northbound detour from I-71 to Route 13: continue on I-71 to Route 39, exit and re-enter I-71 southbound to Route 13 northbound.
  • Southbound detour from Route 13 to I-71 northbound: continue on Route 13 southbound to Route 97 west to I-71 northbound.

CONTINUING IMPACTS

Crews continue night work on I-71 from the Morrow/Richland county line to the state Route 13 exit. Work will progress in both zones simultaneously. Estimated completion: October

State Route 95 culvert replacement – State Route 95, just south of Ramsey Road, will close Monday, July 27 for a culvert replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is state Route 95 to Route 97, east on Route 97 to Route 3, north on Route 3 to Route 39, northwest on Route 39 to Route 95, and reverse for southbound motorists. Estimated completion: Friday, August 7

State Route 309 minor rehabilitation – State Route 309, from state Route 314 to Home Road, will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be shifted over into 10’ lanes and will be divided by portable barrier wall in each direction. Estimated completion: September
