The arrival of warmer temperatures in the coming weeks signals the beginning of area road work, including that to be performed by the Ohio Department of Transportation.

ODOT seeks to perform maintenance on current bridges located in the following places:

  • In Crawford County on State Route 4 at the 15.27 and 22.02 mile marker
  • In Crawford County on State Route 294 at the 3.16 mile marker
  • In Huron County on U.S. 224 at the 15.82 mile marker
  • In Huron County on State Route 13 at the 5.45 mile marker
  • In Huron County on the State Route 99 at the 3.68 mile marker
  • In Richland County on State Route 13 at the 25.10 mile marker

All the project locations will consist of encasing the existing steel piers with concrete to add structural strength. Some locations will get additional rock channel protection to prevent erosion concerns. All work will be completed within existing ODOT right-of-way.

During construction traffic will be maintained with lane closures and signage.

Construction is anticipated to begin in the winter April of 2020, and last approximately 210 days (completion of all locations).

Written comments concerning the proposed project may be mailed to Levi Wingler, Environmental Specialist, ODOT District 3, 906 Clark Avenue, Ashland OH 44805. You can also contact by telephone at (800) 276-4188 or by email at [email protected].
