It’s officially open.

The long-awaited carousel at Greensboro Science Center in Greensboro, North Carolina has taken on its very first riders.

According to this article on Greensboro.com, the online home of the Greensboro News & Record, that event took place on Monday. It will open to the general public this Wednesday, the article states.

Planning and building the structure to house the carousel has taken some time. In January of 2019, we shared an update of a July 2017 post talking about the $3 million project sponsored by the Rotary Club of Greensboro, together with a link to a story featuring a construction slideshow.

The carousel is the newest to be built by Carousel Works in Mansfield and put into operation.

The Greensboro.com article includes photo and a video of the first riders and their parents enjoying the day.
