On Thursday, the METRICH Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of Richland County ASORT and the Mansfield Police Department, executed a drug-related search warrant at 177 Vale Avenue in Mansfield. The warrant, authorized by Judge David Badnell of the Mansfield Municipal Court, led to the seizure of significant evidence related to illegal drugs and firearms.
Seizure of Drugs, Weapons, and Cash
During the search, authorities confiscated 36 grams of suspected cocaine, a substantial amount of cash totaling $3,255, and various firearms, including a Pardus 12-gauge shotgun, a Glock 17 9mm handgun, and a KelTec 9mm rifle. Other drug-related evidence was also collected, providing crucial leads for further investigation.
In a related operation, 470 grams of methamphetamine were seized by METRICH Detectives during the investigation leading up to the search.
Arrest and Charges
Dekota Thompson, the primary suspect in the case, was arrested and incarcerated on multiple charges, including:
- Trafficking in Methamphetamine (F-1)
- Trafficking in Cocaine (F-1)
- Possession of Cocaine (F-1)
- Trafficking in Cocaine (F-4)
Authorities have indicated that further drug and weapon-related charges will be forwarded to the Richland County Prosecutor’s Office.
