As another school year winds down and summer gets nearer, the month of May will bring three events to the Renaissance Theatre that are energetic and colorful. Two of them add patriotic music to that mix. Here’s what’s in store:

American Salute: Mansfield Youth Symphony Spring Concert – Sunday, May 7 at 3:00 PM — Under the baton of director Randy Heidlebaugh, 75 of the region’s finest young musicians perform in their culminating concert of the season featuring the winners of the annual concerto competition.

Take Me To Your Leader: Mansfield Symphony Orchestra Masterworks Concert – Saturday, May 13 at 8:00 PM — Douglas Droste of Muncie, Indiana will conduct the final Masterworks concert of the season on May 13, 2017, featuring Mansfield Symphony Concertmaster Victor Beyens.

Little Johnny Jones: Renaissance Youth Opera Theatre – Saturday, May 27 at 7:00 PM — Under the direction of Lori Turner, the talented students of the Renaissance Youth Opera Theatre perform George M. Cohan’s classic musical features the songs, Give My Regards to Broadway and Yankee Doodle Dandy.

1812Blockhouse will have more on these performances as they approach. Tickets are already available for purchase online at this location.

It’s already time to begin looking ahead to next season’s offerings, and the 17-18 Season Preview Party on June 6 is the ideal time to do so.  It’s a night of live entertainment, food, drinks, giveaways, and fun as the season lineup is announced. We’ll have additional details in May on this event.
