Steven J. Strickling, Mansfield’s Fire Chief, has invited the public to a swearing in ceremony on December 9, which will recognize three new firefighters.
The ceremony will be held at 10:00 AM at the Mansfield Fire Department, Station #1, 140 E. Third Street.
To be sworn in are Luke Adkins, Patrick Connor, and Jared McBride.
Firefighters work closely with other emergency response agencies, namely police and the emergency medical service, to provide assistance to the public in unsafe situations. The basic tasks of firefighters include: fire suppression, rescue, fire prevention, basic first aid, and investigations.
