Special to 1812Blockhouse

Earlier Wednesday afternoon at approximately 12:15 PM Mansfield Police responded to the YMCA located at 750 Scholl Road in reference to a stabbing. Once on scene, officers were advised that a verbal altercation inside the location resulted in subjects leaving the building and continuing the argument outside, near the entrance. At some point during this outside altercation, a 36 year old male victim was stabbed at least once. The victim was transported to a local hospital and left in the care of Emergency Room staff for treatment.

Patrol Officers at the scene detained a 21 year old male believed to be involved in the altercation. This was an isolated incident and initial indications are that an online argument and/or posts led to the altercation which resulted in the victim being stabbed.

The investigation remains ongoing and no additional information is available at this time. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Major Crimes Detective J. Mark Perry at 419.755.9730.
