The following was shared on Sunday morning by the Mansfield Division of Police:

At approximately 2:36 AM on September 22, 2024, officers responded to 459 S. Main St. after receiving a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers entered the residence where they found a 19-year-old male victim inside who had sustained a gunshot wound(s).

The Mansfield Fire Department arrived at the residence; however, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Richland County Coroner’s Office responded and will be sending the victim for an autopsy as this is an ongoing investigation.
