This September, the Mansfield Playhouse takes you “behind the scenes” to experience a play from the outside in.

Or, more exactly, from offstage looking toward onstage.

Noises Off is a 1982 play written by English playwright Michael Frayn. Called the funniest farce ever written, Noises Off presents a manic menagerie as a cast of itinerant actors rehearsing a flop called Nothing’s On. Doors slamming, on and offstage intrigue, and an errant herring all figure in the plot of this hilarious and classically comic play.

The play takes its title from the theatrical stage direction indicating sounds coming from offstage.

Directed by Renee Statham, Noises Off will be presented on September 8, 9, 15, 16 at 8:00 PM and September 17 at 2:30 PM. Season sponsors include Richland Source, MT Business Technologies Inc., and WMAN AM 1400

Tickets may be purchased at this location online.
