The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Mansfield Police Department, and the Richland County Sheriff’s Office announce the arrest of Dennis J. Northover, II, 27 years of age, for receipt and distribution of child pornography.
Through investigative means, it was determined that a computer assigned to Dennis J. Northover of Mansfield, Ohio had been used to view and download child pornography between October 29, 2016 and March 3, 2017. Based on the results of the preliminary investigation, a federal search warrant was executed at Northover’s residence on May 9, 2017. During the execution of the federal search warrant, Northover consented to speaking with law enforcement officials resulting in admissions made involving the receipt, viewing, and distribution of child pornography and to inappropriately touching a small child. Northover was taken into custody by members of the FBI Mansfield Resident Agency’s Child Exploitation Task Force.
Northover had an initial appearance May 10 in federal court. His detention hearing will be held May 15 at 10:00 AM.
