The City of Mansfield Community Development Office is the focal point for the City’s addressing neighborhood revitalization, housing assistance, and community development projects. As shared on the City website, the Office pursues programming which set out to “build or expand infrastructures; upgrade public facilities; upgrade the existing housing stock; expand home ownership opportunities and affordable rental housing; and promote f economic development.”
To assist the office in planning, they are turning to residents for input.
Two surveys have been posted online, one a Business/Community Needs Survey, and the other a Citizen/Community Needs Survey. Input is sought from both groups as the Office launches the annual CDBG Fiscal Year 2021 Planning Process.
The surveys can be found and completed here and here.
The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) planning and review process will be taking place over the next several weeks. The process to solicit proposals for this funding begins with a news release on January 4 announcing availability of the program application.
After this, there will be a set of public meetings via Zoom, one on January 7 from 2PM to 3PM and the other on January 12 from 5PM to 6PM. The meeting link and call-in information will be available on the City’s website.
This phase of the CDBG process will result in a proposal deadline of February 5 at 4 PM in the Community Development Department, 8th Floor of the Mansfield Municipal Building.
