Special to 1812Blockhouse

Little Buckeye Children’s Museum is responding to meet the needs of the families and children in our community– despite the challenges brought onto them by the COVID-19 pandemic– through their award-winning Buckeye Bag program, and the development of the highly-anticipated Imagination District.

“We have worked tirelessly to adapt to this new world by pivoting our priorities and reducing our costs at every opportunity. We have a clear goal in making the Imagination District a reality, and we are pleased to say that construction is currently underway,” says Little Buckeye Children’s Museum Executive Director, Fred Boll, “But we do need help in bridging that financial gap.”

Richland Gives, an online day of giving hosted by the Richland County Foundation, is set for Tuesday, December 1 from 7 AM to 7 PM. This day, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, is also known as GivingTuesday, a global generosity movement aimed at unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and their world.

Richland Gives will kick off the generosity season this year by inspiring people to give back to the local nonprofits they care about on December 1, 2020 during an online giving event that allows local nonprofit organizations to fundraise under one website: richlandgives.org.

Little Buckeye Children’s Museum has joined the Richland Gives celebration in an effort to raise the funds necessary for operations after their forced closure due to COVID-19 resulted in a major loss of revenue. “The faith and support that our Richland County community has shown Little Buckeye Children’s Museum motivates and encourages us every day. We are actively pursuing all avenues to raise funds, but we need your help to make our efforts go even further!” says Boll.

Richland Gives donors will be able to make their online donations starting as early as November 16th at 7 a.m. These early donations will still count toward the giving day totals for each nonprofit. Richland Gives donations can be made through December 1 at 7 PM. Prize grants from the Richland County Foundation will be awarded to nonprofits throughout the day of giving on December 1st for winning different fundraising contests.
