Audiophile: noun; a hi-fi enthusiast.

Get ready audiophiles, the Mansfield/Richland County Public Library (MRCPL) system now has vinyl records available for checkout. You can visit their website and search the catalog for available titles.

If you have a record player, but haven’t used it recently, we suggest giving it a try again – And borrowing a record from the library is a cost-effective way to do just that. Audiophiles tend to prefer vinyl because the sound is different than that of a CD or digital file, so it offers a different way to hear the recording you are listening to.

If you try it out and enjoy it, be sure to let a librarian know. Right now the titles are all housed at the main branch (downtown Mansfield), though they can be put on hold and then sent to a different branch for check out. Of course, you will need a library card to check out a record.

Happy listening!
