From our great friends at Destination Mansfield – Richland County:

2021 is finally here and while we enter the new year with caution, it’s thrilling to start planning or schedule. Join us in getting excited about the possibilities of what this year might hold. Events are starting to pick up so here’s what we’re adding to our January calendar: winter fun, online concerts, art classes, and more!

Enjoy some snow and crisp January weather! Fresh powder is waiting for skiers, snowboarders, and snow tubers at Snow Trails. Get in extra time on the slopes and at Vertical Descent tubing park from 9 am to 9 pm with MLK Extended Hours (Jan 15 – 18).

Catch a show from the safety of home! While in-person ticket sales have been suspended at The Renaissance Theatre, you can still enjoy the arts this month. Watch Dreamgirls: The Virtual Concert Experience (Jan 23, 30, and Feb 6) from the safety and comfort of home — streaming live to you from The Renaissance Theatre!

Relax with some art therapy… take an art class at the Mansfield Art Center. Or maybe one of your New Year’s Resolutions is to learn a new talent! The Mansfield Art Center has classes for every skill level and interest. Choose from classes like Weaving: American Blues (Jan 22), or Mosaic: “Piece by Piece” (Jan 22). They even have classes for all ages like Lalapa “Zoo” La (Jan 30) polymer clay animal sculpting. Leave the art to the artists and visit the In Between Everywhere exhibit (Jan 24 –  Feb 28) at the Mansfield Art Center. This exhibition showcases the work of 42 Central Ohio artists.

Find new ways to destress with Wine & Yoga in the Ballroom (Jan 21) at Kingwood Center Gardens. You bring the yoga mat — Evolve Yoga Studios will provide the yoga poses and Buehler’s Fresh Foods will provide the pairings! There is even more to do at Kingwood Center Gardens which is now open year-round. Learn how to make a Microgreen Window Planter (Jan 28) or bring the kids for the Storytime Series classes Strange Plants (Jan 19) or All About Insects (Jan 26)

Enjoy Live Music from your favorite local artists:

  • Just Jazz (Jan 15) at The Happy Grape
  • Henry J (Jan 22) at The Happy Grape
  • Coma Love (Jan 23) at Hudson and Essex
  • EKG (Jan 29) at Hudson and Essex
