From time to time, we feature information here at 1812Blockhouse about interesting events and happenings within an easy drive of Richland County. We call this series “In Our Backyard.”
Attention Richland County animal lovers . The Annual All-American Pet Expo as well as the Annual All About Cats Expo and the Mega Pet Adoption are all taking place from March 11 through 13 at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus.
All-American Pet Expo
This expo will be full of animal fun with contests, entertainment, competitions, shopping, pet rescue organizations and more.
Enjoy the pet competitions and comic routines, reptile world, llama world, bird world, and more. The Classic K9 Show and TICA Cat Show will be held all three days. Shorty Rossi from the Animal Planet show “Pit Boss” is a Pit Bull Rescuer/Activist and also a motivational speaker. He will be at the show speaking on the breed and what he does to promote himself and his charity.
Additional entertainment includes Kids World, Tami the Mermaid, Bunny Races, Butterfly Experience, and more.
All About Cats Expo
The All About Cats Expo features an official judged TICA CAT event hosted by Show Cats Columbus. Over 250 cats will compete for ribbons – enter your house cat if you think he/she has what it takes! The Cats Expo is part of Pets Expo.
Vendors will be on hand with everything from A to Z in Cat Products and other Pet Products, plus there will be Cat Entertainment, cat agility course, Ask the Vet Boot, Cat Rescues. Need a fix of other animals at the show? Check out the exotic birds, Llamas, and Reptile World.
Columbus Kids World
Kid’s World is packed this year with fun this year! Cool Cat Sites Entertainment is back with over 10 Bouncers. Texas Roadhouse is sponsoring the kids area with free kids meals (plus free adult apps while they last) with any purchase of an $8 all play wristband.
Cost is $2 per bounce attraction, or $8 for all play wristband.
COSI Science Spot will have fun educational activities. On Saturday they are bringing their world famous basketball playing rats.
Other entertainment includes Hermit Crab Exhibit by Mister Crabs, Shark tooth search, and more educational talks for the kids, Butterfly Experience, Face painting, and Craft Area.
Mega Adoption Event
Details are still to be announced for 2022. A list of pet rescues is provided so you don’t have to wait until you find your next best friend. Adopt – don’t shop.
