The annual Collection Day for household hazardous waste in Richland County has been set.

The Richland County Regional Solid Waste Management Authority is hosting the event, which will place on Saturday, October 28 between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM at 1125 National Parkway in Mansfield.

This year, the Authority has stated that the following items will be accepted as constituting hazardous waste:

  • Automotive Batteries/Rechargeable Power Tool Batteries
  • Smoke Alarms/Carbon Dioxide Detectors
  • Mercury Fever Thermometer for a free digital thermometer (while supplies last)
  • Fire Extinguishers
  • Empty Propane Tanks-Only
  • Whole Mercury Thermostats-NO PRESSURE SWITCHES
