The Richland County Emergency Management Agency is updating its Hazard Mitigation Plan to identify policies and actions that can be implemented to reduce risk and future losses from hazards. FEMA requires mitigation plans to be updated every 5 years, and by doing so the Richland County can be eligible to receive funding through several FEMA disaster response and recoveryp programs.
The draft Richland County Hazard Mitigation Plan is availble for review, and the public comment period will extend through November 24.
The draft plan is available to read online (click here) and paper copies are available at the Main Library of the Mansfield/Richland County Public Library in downtown Mansfield.
During this public comment period, the public’s feedback is essential to prepare a hazard mitigation plan that can serve as a guide in future mitigation actions to protect Richland County citizens.
