Have you ever sensed a desire to learn about acting in video or on stage? Here’s a chance to do something about it!

The Mansfield Art Center will be hosting a eight week workshop on “Acting in Film,” beginning on January 19.

As described on the MAC website, “Strip bare everything you learned as a thespian. Cultivate your authentic and subtle film presence. This 8-week mixed-skill collaborative studies Hollywood’s secrets, including: acting with a Steadicam, the close-up, how to talk to a green x on the wall, the audition, internet filming, shooting out of order, and acting for specific director setups. Students delve into scene work and walk away with weekly footage of their scenes and a final demo, ready for casting directors or film submissions.”

The instructor will be award winning filmmaker Daniel Roemer (Sony Pictures, Lionsgate, Netflix).

A bio of Roemer on IMDB can be accessed here.

The class will be held on Thursday evenings from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Cost is $100 for members, and $115 for non-members, with an additional $20 supply fee.

Online registration can be found here.
