It’s that time of the year again! Richland Public Health says everyone age 6 months and older needs a flu vaccine.

The Health Department will hold two flu vaccine clinics for Richland County residents:

October 24 from 4 to 7 PM.

October 26 from 10 to 1 PM.

Both clinics are walk-in (no appointment needed) at Richland Public Health, 555 Lexington Avenue, Mansfield, in the Corley Room (lower level, rear parking lot).

Richland Public Health pricing for flu vaccine is $33 if paying by cash or check. Some children will qualify for lower cost flu vaccine through the Vaccines for Children program. Prices may vary for adults age 65 and over who will receive a high dose flu vaccine. The Health Department accepts Medicare/Medicaid, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Medical Mutual, and United Health Care. Please bring your insurance card and driver’s license.

Following these two open clinics, Richland Public Health flu vaccines will be available by appointment and walk-in through Public Health Nursing, 419-774-4700.

Richland Public Health Neighborhood Immunization Clinics will also provide flu vaccines for children 6-months through 18-years-old beginning in October. Call 419-774-8115 for dates, times and locations.

“Every year in the United States there are more than 200,000 hospitalizations and 36,000 deaths from complications of influenza,” Amy Schmidt, Director of Nursing at Richland Public Health, said. “Nobody likes to be sick. Getting the flu will cause you to miss work or school, along with your favorite activities. You might also pass the flu on to your family, friends, or co-workers. Protect yourself and others. Get immunized against the flu.”

The Richland Public Health flu immunization program is partially funded by local tax levy dollars.
