On Friday, METRICH detectives, with support from multiple law enforcement agencies, executed search warrants targeting drug trafficking activity at three Mansfield locations. The operation, authorized by Judge Michael Kemerer of the Mansfield Municipal Court, focused on properties at 26 Dunbilt Court, 40 Bradford Avenue, and 290 South Diamond Street.
Collaborative Effort in Law Enforcement
The operation was a joint effort involving METRICH detectives, the Mansfield Division of Police, the Richland County ASORT team, and Mansfield Police K-9 Maxx. The search warrants stemmed from an ongoing drug trafficking investigation conducted by the METRICH Enforcement Unit.
Significant Seizures and Arrest
Law enforcement seized a substantial amount of illegal drugs, stolen property, and cash during the searches, including:
- 486 grams of suspected cocaine
- 9 grams of suspected fentanyl
- Two recovered stolen firearms
- Other drug-related evidence and a significant quantity of suspected stolen property
- $3,296.00 in cash
Sentreas Sanks, 35, of Mansfield, was arrested and charged with multiple felony counts of Trafficking in Cocaine and Trafficking in Fentanyl. He is currently being held in the Richland County Jail, awaiting a court appearance. Additional charges related to drugs and weapons are expected to be filed with the Richland County Prosecutor’s Office.
Community Involvement Recognized
Detective Perry Wheeler attributed the success of the investigation to valuable tips from community members. METRICH Commander Lt. Steve Blust echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of public cooperation in reporting suspicious activities.
“Community support plays a critical role in our mission to reduce illegal drugs and weapons in our region,” said Lt. Blust. “We encourage citizens to remain vigilant and continue reporting any suspected criminal activities.”
