The first-ever Crow Festival begins this weekend at the Mansfield Art Center, celebrating the remarkable influx of these feathered friends to north central Ohio – and to the Center in particular –  each fall.

The Foundation Gallery at the MAC is the place beginning this Saturday, where a juried art show featuring crow-inspired art in a variety of media will be on display through November 6.

On Friday, October 28, the MAC Masquerade will take place. Tickets are just $25 – call 419-756-1700 to reserve your spot. Costumes are required and drinks and desserts will be on offer.

Then, on Saturday, October 29 from 2 PM to 8 PM, enjoy the main day of the Crow Festival featuring:

  • Glass pumpkins
  • Crow calling contest
  • Outdoor screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s masterpiece “The Birds”
  • A visit by the Mansfield Birdman
  • Poetry readings
  • Jack o’lantern carving contest
  • Kid’s activities from 2 to 4 PM

There’s every chance that you will see crows joining in the fun.
