The Theatre Department of Ohio State Mansfield, in cooperation with the Mansfield Shakespeare Company and in collaboration with local artists, is set to present William Shakespeare’s iconic tragedy Romeo and Juliet this February and March. Known for its timeless exploration of love and conflict, this production promises a fresh take with a fast-paced, abridged version of the original text.

About the Production

Set against the backdrop of the heated streets of Verona, Romeo and Juliet tells the story of star-crossed lovers whose union seeks to mend the deep rift between their feuding families. The adaptation uses Shakespeare’s original words while trimming the text for a swift, emotionally charged journey toward its tragic conclusion.
