The Renaissance Theatre is pulling out all the stops on Saturday, May 10 at 7:30 PM, as the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra presents a one-night-only concert staging of the beloved Broadway musical Fiddler on the Roof. Part of the OhioHealth Symphony Series, this performance promises to be an unforgettable fusion of symphonic power, iconic storytelling, and star-studded talent—delivered live on the Ren stage.

At the heart of the production is Bruce Sabath, a Broadway veteran known for standout roles in Company and Cagney, taking on the role of Tevye, the lovable milkman who wrestles with change in the tight-knit village of Anatevka. Joining him is Lisa Fishman, whose portrayal of Golde in Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish earned acclaim on national tours. Comedy fans will recognize Judy Gold, an Emmy Award-winning performer known for The Judy Show and Comedy Central Presents, bringing her sharp wit to the role of Yente. Rounding out the headlining cast is Jeff Richmond, composer, director, and actor from 30 Rock and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, stepping into the role of Lazar Wolf.

A Symphony of Talent: Music, Community, and Legacy

Guided by Maestro Octavio Más-Arocas, the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra will perform the full score live, creating a rich musical backdrop that elevates this concert-style performance. Unlike traditional stagings, the focus here is on the music and storytelling—stripped of sets and spectacle but full of heart and meaning. Renaissance Artistic Director Michael Thomas calls it “our most ambitious concert staging to date,” combining Broadway-level talent with more than 30 local and regional performers to bring this classic to life.

The cast features a vibrant mix of familiar faces and rising stars, including Dru Loman as Motel, Sam Woodill as Tzeitel, Leah Gesouras as Hodel, Nykera Gardner as Chava, Matt Piper as Perchik, and Jacob Poiner as Fyedka. The production also showcases dancers from the Richland Academy of the Arts Department of Dance, directed by Sarah and Marden Ramos, adding movement and energy to scenes throughout the show.
