On Monday, the Mansfield Division of Police, Major Crimes Unit announced that an arrest has been made in connection with the Nolan Lovett homicide. This arrest is in reference to several “911” calls received on May 3, 2018 at 2:13 PM when officers were summoned to 737 Bowman Street for a shooting. When police arrived they found Mr. Lovett laying in the yard with a gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to Ohio Health Mansfield hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Through evidence processing, various tips, and investigative leads; Khairi A. Bond (D.O.B. 08/01/95) was arrested in connection with the murder of Mr. Lovett. The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) located Mr. Bond in Delaware County this morning and placed him under arrest in reference to a “Murder” warrant without incident.

There are no further details to release at this time as to what led to the shooting as the investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Detective Bill Bushong at (419) 755-9432 or Lieutenant Rob Skropits at (419) 755-9755.

Lt. Skropits stated, “We would like to thank the community for their help with identifying this suspect. Without the assistance of our citizens, crimes like this would be much more difficult to solve in a timely manner.”
