The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc. has announced two exciting developments to kick off the new year: the addition of two highly skilled professionals to its Corporate Board of Trustees and the launch of the 2025 edition of its Scholarship Program. These initiatives further underscore the Agency’s commitment to supporting the aging and disabled communities across North Central Ohio.
New Faces on the Corporate Board of Trustees
The Area Agency on Aging has welcomed Tamara Wolfe and Pam Rose to its Corporate Board of Trustees, representing Wyandot and Knox counties, respectively.
Tamara Wolfe, MS, BSN, RN, brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Having previously served as Chair of the Agency’s Foundation Board, she now rejoins the Corporate Board as a seasoned advocate for well-being and leadership. Wolfe currently serves as Senior Consultant Associate Provider & Well-Being at OhioHealth Dublin Methodist and Grady Memorial, where her focus on process improvement and well-being has cemented her reputation as a trusted leader.
Knox County’s new representative, Pam Rose, offers a diverse background in education and mental health. A former educator and administrator with Mount Vernon City Schools, Rose is a committed community leader actively involved with The Experience Mount Vernon Board, The Freedom Center, and The Ackerman Nature Preserve. Her extensive contributions to Knox County’s well-being make her an invaluable addition to the team.
2025 Scholarship Program Empowers Future Leaders in Aging and Disability Services
The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging has also unveiled its 2025 Scholarship Program, an initiative designed to support students and professionals pursuing careers in aging and disability services.
Scholarship Details:
- One $2,000 Scholarship: For students attending a four-year university.
- One $1,000 Scholarship: For students attending a two-year college, technical school, or pursuing certification.
- One $1,000 Scholarship: Exclusively for retirees or current staff members (and their children or grandchildren) of the Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, attending any higher education or certification program.
Applications are due by March 15, 2025, and detailed eligibility criteria are available on the Area Agency on Aging’s website.
This program underscores the Agency’s mission to support future professionals committed to enhancing the quality of life for older adults and individuals with disabilities.
