Vintage Grand Prix Of Ohio This Weekend At Mid-Ohio

After nearly a two-month pause, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course will open its gates to spectators on a limited basis this weekend for the Vintage Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio, June 26-28. The race weekend is the longest continuously-running annual event at the motorsports facility in Lexington, Ohio, which previously was the season-opener most recently in 2017.

The Vintage Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio will operate under the “Responsible RestartOhio” guidelines for COVID-19 after receiving approval from government officials for limited spectator attendance. Ohio House Passes Sports Betting Bill

The Ohio House of Representatives passed a bill Thursday that would allow Ohioans to place bets on sports.

The bill passed 83-10. It now heads to the Ohio Senate, which has been working on a similar proposal with a different regulatory body and lower tax rate.

The House bill would give oversight responsibilities to the state Lottery, while the Senate bill gives oversight to the Ohio Casino Control Commission. More…

OHSAA Clarifies Lifting Of No-Contact Period For Six Sports, Report Shares

It’s time to play ball! Well, maybe.

On Saturday, the Toledo Blade reported that the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) is lifting its no-contact period for baseball, golf, softball, swimming and diving, track and field, and tennis, while spring sports seasons remain cancelled.

This will be effective on May 26.

In a letter sent on Friday evening, OHSAA Executive Director Jerry Snodgrass attempted to clarify the situation caused with several announcements from Columbus and previous OHSAA statements. More…

Date For Honda Indy 200 Moves

INDYCAR announced on Thursday that the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course originally set for August 14-16 has been moved to one week earlier on the calendar to August 7-9.

This shift is in support of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES’ efforts to run as many of its points championship races as possible in 2020. Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course moving up its date also opens up the summer calendar further for the Indianapolis 500 to run on August 23. More…

Pep Rally Downtown For Tygers, Cubs

The Community Pep Rally will be held in Central Park in downtown Mansfield at 7:00 PM.

Everyone is invited to come out and support these young men, their coaches, and their schools.
