It’s the time of year when high school football enters its final weeks collegiate and high school basketball seasons begin.

With that comes the opening games for the 2019-2020 season for The Ohio State University at Mansfield’s men’s and women’s basketball squads. Both are members of the Ohio Regional Campus Conference (ORCC) which OSUM joined in 2010. Racing Series Returns To Mid-Ohio For First Time Since 1965

The ARCA (Automobile Racing Club of America) Menards Series will return to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington for the first time since 1965 when it competes at the 2.258-mile, 13-turn road course on May 30, 2020. The race will be held in conjunction with the annual NASCAR XFINITY Series weekend, which in previous seasons had been scheduled in the month of August. The move to a new late spring date is to accommodate television coverage of the 2020 Summer Olympics. More…



American Rallycross Champions To Be Crowned at Mid-Ohio

After making its inaugural appearance at Lexington’s Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in June, Americas Rallycross (ARX) returns for its final event of the 2019 season, the Cooper Tires ARX of Mid-Ohio Round 2, October 5-6.

The racing is on an asphalt and dirt 0.761-mile temporary circuit constructed in the “keyhole” section of the facility with a jump included in the layout. Rallycross is the fastest growing form of racing in the world and ideally positioned to become a household sport since its birth in 2014 with the FIA World Rallycross (World RX). More…



National Auto Sport Association Championship Race Returns

Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is hosting the 14th annual National Auto Sport Association (NASA) Championships presented by Toyo Tires. More than 300 competitors in 26 classes will be on track, plus over 60 drivers racing in seven Time Trial classes. Last held at the permanent road course in North Central Ohio in 2012, NASA is returning to Mid-Ohio, the site of its inaugural championships event in 2006. More…

Tygers Begin Season At Home

The Mansfield Senior High Tygers will open the varsity football season against the Norwalk Truckers on Friday at 7 PM at Arlin Field. Pre-sale tickets for that game and for the entire six-game home schedule will go on sale Thursday in the athletic office.

Single-game tickets will be $6 for adults, $4 for students and $4 for senior citizens who reside in the school district. More…

One of the foremost vintage base ball festivals takes place at the end of this month, and Mansfield will be represented.

That’s “base ball,” not baseball, mind you, which is how nineteenth century Americans referred to what was then a new game.
