Fall Color Continues To Spread Throughout Ohio

Ohioans and out-of-state visitors are encouraged to explore a state park, nature preserve or forest this October to enjoy the many free amenities that they offer, as well as the fall color Ohio provides. Near peak and peak conditions are expected across most of the state this coming weekend, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). While the weather patterns and wind conditions we experienced across much of the state last weekend may leave some of the colors spotty, there are still many locations that will have fall color on full display. Landmarks of Mansfield: The Dr. James W. Craig House

The Dr. James W. Craig House, now home of the Richland Area Chamber of Commerce, is a proud survivor of late Victorian Mansfield.

The house was constructed in 1890 as a home and office for Dr. Craig and his family. At the time, Mulberry Street was the location of choice for physician and surgeon offices. Craig had purchased the property in 1885 for $15,000. More…

The stately columned entrance to South Park tells two stories.

First is the love that late nineteenth and early twentieth century Mansfielders obviously had for parks and nature. After the Civil War, local citizens, like their counterparts across the country, sought respite from the grit and grime of city streets in bucolic settings. Chief Harper To Be Inducted Into Civil Rights Hall Of Fame

Former Mansfield Police Chief Lawrence Harper, who passed away last year, will be among those honored by induction into the Ohio Civil Rights Hall of Fame, the Ohio Civil Rights Commission has announced.

The ceremony will take place on October 5 in the Ohio Statehouse Atrium. Harper is one of four inductees, the other being Lieutenant Colonel Gilbert H. Jones, the Marching Mothers and Children of the 1954 Hillsboro Fight for Integration, and Moses Fleetwood Walker. More…

Weekend Event To Provide Window To The Past
