Listeners of Mansfield’s WVMC-FM (90.7) will soon notice a change, as the station becomes part of “The River” network based in Columbus effective November 29. The transition will coincide with a switch to Christmas music across both networks, marking a festive introduction to the new collaboration.
Expansion of The River Network Across Ohio
The move integrates Mansfield’s 90.7 and additional stations under Soaring Eagle Promotions’ “Rise-FM” network into River Radio Ministries’ established “The River” Christian Adult Contemporary (AC) network. This expansion not only strengthens the network’s reach but also amplifies its message across Ohio. The stations joining The River include 88.5 WKEN in Kenton, 88.9 WHEI in Tiffin, 88.9 WSOH in Zanesfield, 90.1 WJEE in Bolivar, and several translators in Findlay, Ashland, and Jefferson.
For listeners, the move means an expanded lineup of uplifting music, faith-based programming, and community-driven events. This change underscores both organizations’ missions to inspire listeners and provide spiritual encouragement through accessible, family-friendly content.
A Shared Mission for Greater Community Impact
Soaring Eagle Promotions’ Founder and General Manager, Mark Boyer, reflected on the decision, revealing the process of prayer and deliberation that led to the partnership. “In September 2023, I sensed the Lord leading me to reach out to [River Radio Ministries] CEO Bill Montgomery,” Boyer said. “Are we better together? Is this what is best for God’s Kingdom? After many months of discussion and prayer, we determined the answer to both questions was a strong ‘YES.’”
Through their shared vision, Soaring Eagle and The River aim to enhance their collective reach, offering listeners across Ohio messages of hope, spiritual uplift, and engaging music programming. Together, they will amplify their impact, providing a unified voice that reaches communities through radio, live events, and an expanding network of partnerships.
This partnership opens doors for more collaborative events across Ohio, allowing The River and Rise-FM to host concerts and community gatherings that bring people together under a shared message of faith and hope.

To mark the official launch of this union, listeners will be treated to continuous Christmas music beginning Friday, November 29. As the familiar sounds of the season fill the airwaves, Mansfield listeners will get their first taste of what this expanded network has to offer, uniting communities from Kenton to Mansfield, Findlay to Ashland, and beyond.
