Ohio’s commercial skiing industry began right here. Snow Trails opened near Mansfield during the winter of 1961–62 as the state’s first commercial ski resort. 🏈 Shelby earns statewide football recognition
Wednesday carryover: Shelby leads the Ohio Prep Sports Media Association’s latest “Best of the Best” football notebook following its September 25 victory over River Valley.

⛳ County golfers finish district competition
Wednesday report on Tuesday’s tournaments: Lexington’s Aniyah Monica tied for ninth with an 87 at the Division I girls district tournament at Stone Ridge. Ontario’s Isabella Deel tied for 35th with a 101.

📚 Shelby library hosts family literacy night
Happening today: Marvin Memorial Library’s Early Literacy Night runs from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at 29 W. Whitney Avenue.

🚚 Food trucks gather Friday in Mansfield
Friday preview: Mansfield Parks and Recreation’s Food Truck Fest is scheduled for October 2 from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at 100 Brinkerhoff Avenue.
