El Puerto Vallarta Mexican Bar & Grill officially opened on April 9, following a soft opening on April 8, at 900 N. Lexington-Springmill Road in Ontario. The restaurant occupies the former TGI Fridays location. The opening was long expected but apparently delayed as final permits were being obtained.

The Ontario site is part of a group of Puerto Vallarta restaurants operated by the Zarate family, with other locations across Ohio including Newark, Pataskala, Heath, Westerville, Steubenville, and Baltimore.

Location and Hours

  • Address: 900 N. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario, Ohio 44906
  • Monday–Thursday: 11:00 AM–10:00 PM
  • Friday–Saturday: 11:00 AM–11:00 PM
  • Sunday: 11:30 AM–9:00 PM

The menu follows the format used at other Puerto Vallarta locations, including:

  • Fajita platters with chicken, steak, shrimp, or combinations
  • Burrito and taco combinations
  • Enchiladas, quesadillas, and house specialties
  • Seafood dishes such as Camarones al Mojo de Ajo
  • Molcajete, served as a mixed grill
  • Rice, beans, salads, and shareable appetizers
  • Desserts and a full bar with margaritas, draft beer, and cocktails

One signature element already drawing attention is the oversized margarita “tower,” designed as a shareable feature that reinforces the restaurant’s group-friendly atmosphere.

Early Activity

With only a handful of online reviews posted so far, the early tone has been notably positive. Comments emphasize well-seasoned food, attentive service, and an inviting interior, along with curiosity about the drink menu and its variety.

Those familiar with other Puerto Vallarta locations will recognize the consistency in approach. Across the brand, feedback has typically centered on reliability: approachable pricing, substantial portions, and an environment suited for both casual meals and larger gatherings.
