Welcome to the ODOT Road Project Reports for 2026.

With the weather improving slowly but surely, crews are already back at work doing important updates on area roadways. As in years past, we will be providing weekly updates for projects in Ashland, Crawford, and Richland Counties.

The following is scheduled to take place during this coming week.

U.S. Route 42 culvert replacement

U.S. 42, between Township Road 543 and SR 89, will close Monday, April 13 for a culvert replacement. The detour route will be U.S. 42 north to U.S. 250 east to SR 89 north to U.S. 42 and reverse. Estimated completion: Friday, April 24, 2026

State Route 302 bridge repair

NEW IMPACTS – SR 302, just east of U.S. 250 (S Main St), will close Monday, April 27 for bridge repairs. The detour route will be SR 302 north to SR 511 south to U.S. 250 west to SR 302 and reverse. Estimated completion: Wednesday, May 20, 2026

Mohican State Park bridge repairs

The covered bridge in Mohican State Park, over the Clear Fork Mohican River, is closed for bridge repairs. Motorists will be detoured to SR 97 west to McCurdy Road north to Goon Rd/County Road 3006 east to County Road 939 into the Mohican State Park and reverse. Estimated completion: April 30, 2026


U.S. Route 30 bridge replacement

U.S. 30 at the east and west bridges over the Norfolk Southern Railroad, just west of SR 98, will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction for a bridge replacement project. Estimated completion: August 2027

NEW IMPACTS

  • The SR 4 entrance ramp to U.S. 30 eastbound will close Monday, April 13, 2026, for ten days for shoulder reconstruction. The detour will be to take SR 4 south to SR 98 north to U.S. 30 east. Estimated completion: Wednesday, April 22, 2026

CONTINUING IMPACTS

  • The SR 98 entrance ramp to U.S. 30 westbound is closed for two days for underdrain work. The detour will be to take SR 98 south to SR 4 north to U.S. 30 west. Estimated completion: Friday, April 10, 2026
  • Crews continue median crossover construction and shoulder reconstruction work for the bridge replacement project.
  • One 11’ lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained with barrels.

UPCOMING IMPACTS

The CR 330 (Lincoln Hwy) entrance ramp to U.S. 30 westbound will close Monday, April 20 for three days for shoulder reconstruction. The detour will be CR 330 (Lincoln Hwy/E Mansfield St) west to SR 4 north to U.S. 30 west. Estimated completion: Wednesday, April 22, 2026

The SR 98 entrance ramp to U.S. 30 westbound will close Thursday, April 16, 2026, for four days for shoulder reconstruction. The detour will be to take SR 98 south to SR 4 north to U.S. 30 west. Estimated completion: Sunday, April 19, 2026


Interstate 71 resurfacing

I-71 from the Ashland County line to SR 13 will have single lane closures when necessary for a resurfacing project. Crews will begin work in the median to remove and repair cable wire in the median. Estimated completion: October 2026

U.S. 42 minor rehabilitation

U.S. 42 (East Main Street) northbound and southbound in the village of Lexington, from SR 546 (Frederick Street) to Castor Road, will have daily lane closures for a roadway and intersection improvement project. The northbound and southbound driving lanes will be closed for sidewalk, signal, and roadway work. Traffic will be maintained with 12’ lanes in each direction with barrels. Project work includes adding bike lanes, reconfiguring intersection access, and various pedestrian improvements. Estimated completion: May 2026

State Route 13 resurfacing

SR 13 northbound and southbound, from Hanley Road to Chilton Ave, will have closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained in a 12-ft lane using barrels. Estimated completion: May 2027

State Route 13 culvert replacement

SR 13, between Ross Road and Honey Creek Road is closed for a culvert replacement. The detour route will be SR 13 south to SR 97 west to Lexington to U.S. 42 south to SR 546 south to SR 13 and reverse. Estimated completion: Friday, April 10, 2026

State Route 13 resurfacing

SR 13 from the Knox County line through the village of Bellville to Andrews Road will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: October 2026
