OSUM Day Of Giving Focuses On Textbooks

About 44% of first year students in Autumn Semester 2017 at The Ohio State University at Mansfield were eligible for federal Pell Grants. That means they have high financial need. While the Pell Grants help these students attend college, they don’t often cover everything a student needs to be successful. Conard Gallery To Host Exhibition Focusing On Motherhood

The Pearl Conard Gallery at The Ohio State University at Mansfield will present “Labors: An Exhibition Exploring the Complexities of Motherhood,” curated by Kate Shannon, associate professor of art.

The exhibition is made possible through a Coca-Cola Critical Difference for Women grant. These grants are designed to support research by The Ohio State University faculty and graduate students that explores women’s lives, gender equality, and gender broadly conceptualized. More…

OSUM And Ashland Sign New Agreement To Boost Nursing Education

Thanks to a new arrangement finalized this morning, students at The Ohio State University at Mansfield will now be able to complete their degree at nearby Ashland University.

An updated articulation agreement between the two institutions is a win for area nursing students and the local healthcare community. Ohio State Mansfield Interim Dean Dr. Norman Jones, Ashland University Provost Dr. Eun-Woo Chang and Ashland University Dwight Schar College of Nursing and Health Sciences Dean Dr. Faye Grund signed the revised agreement this morning. It will allow students to complete the first two years of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Ohio State Mansfield and then transition seamlessly to Ashland University to complete the degree. More…

OSU Takes Action To Make College Affordable

On Thursday, The Ohio State University President Michael V. Drake announced an expansion of the university’s commitment to make college more affordable and accessible for students.

While highlighting a historically successful year for Ohio State during his annual State of the University Address, Drake shared the addition of $40 million in need based aid for the 2018-2019 academic year. Mansfield Campus Student Finds Adventure Studying Abroad

Imagine going to class on an island surrounded by rugged mountains and Venetian fortresses. If you think that sounds too good to be true, it’s not. Francesca Hadden, a sophomore anthropology student, got to do just that. Hadden is one of many The Ohio State University students who take advantage of the Education Abroad program.

During Hadden’s freshman year at The Ohio State University at Mansfield, she decided to study abroad in Greece. “I chose to study abroad because I love to travel,” Hadden explains. “What better time to travel than when you are in college.” At Ohio State, Education Abroad students can earn credit through an exchange program or foreign university, complete an independent study or service project, conduct research or participate in an internship program. As a senior at The Ohio State University at Mansfield, Missie Boyd has been working toward a degree in social work so she can make a difference in her community. Now, the 41-year-old from Mansfield has the opportunity to make a difference nationwide. Boyd has been chosen as one of 20 students from The Ohio State University to participate in the 2018 Ohio State College of Social Work Washington, D.C. Fly-in from March 20-23. OSU Mansfield Campus Raises $10K For Student Emergency Fund

Community members came out in a big way to show their love and support of students at The Ohio State University at Mansfield. With a goal of $5,000, Ohio State Mansfield more than doubled that mount, raising a total of $10,027 in support of the Student Emergency Fund during the annual Richland Gives fundraiser in Richland County on November 28.

Richland Gives coincides with the international day of giving called Giving Tuesday. Members of the community are encouraged to contribute to local nonprofits through a single giving online platform. More…
